Abstract / Description

The article investigates the theoretical and methodological foundations of adaptive strategic management of enterprises based on the concept of organizational resilience under conditions of high uncertainty, martial law, digital transformation, disruption of logistics chains, increasing cyber risks, and growing global turbulence. It is substantiated that the contemporary business environment is characterized by nonlinear development, multidimensional threats, and rapid changes in external factors, which necessitates a transition from traditional strategic management models to an adaptive management paradigm focused on ensuring long-term sustainability, flexibility, rapid recovery, and strategic transformation of enterprises. The purpose of the study is to develop the theoretical and methodological foundations of adaptive strategic management based on resilience principles, substantiate the conceptual framework for the formation of strategic resilience, and develop a comprehensive management model integrating dynamic capabilities, strategic flexibility, digital transformation, scenario planning, risk management, and organizational learning into a unified system for ensuring sustainable enterprise development. The methodological framework of the study is based on general scientific and specialized research methods, including the systemic, structural-functional, logical-analytical, comparative, process-oriented, scenario-based, and integrated approaches. The method of critical literature analysis was applied to synthesize contemporary concepts of organizational resilience, while conceptual modeling, structural decomposition of management processes, and theoretical synthesis of strategic management and organizational resilience approaches were used to develop the proposed management model. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the development of a conceptual model of adaptive strategic management based on resilience principles, which, unlike existing approaches, is founded on the cyclical interaction between strategic monitoring systems, enterprise dynamic capabilities (sensing, seizing, and reconfiguring), adaptive strategic processes, resilience-oriented managerial decisions, and organizational learning mechanisms. A structural and functional model of adaptive strategic management is proposed, ensuring a continuous process of strategic adaptation, resource reconfiguration, competence renewal, and business model transformation in response to changes in the external environment. Furthermore, a system for assessing strategic resilience is developed, encompassing financial, operational, organizational, human resource, digital, and innovation dimensions, as well as an integrated strategic resilience index designed to monitor the strategic sustainability of enterprises. The main findings demonstrate that adaptive strategic management should be interpreted as a continuous process of strategic reconfiguration of resources, competencies, and business processes in response to environmental changes. The relationship between enterprise dynamic capabilities and the formation of strategic resilience is substantiated, the key principles of adaptive strategic management are identified, and a mechanism for implementing a resilience-oriented strategy is developed. The study confirms that digital transformation, scenario planning, risk management, organizational learning, and the development of partnership ecosystems are the principal drivers of strategic adaptability and long-term enterprise resilience. The practical significance of the obtained results lies in the possibility of applying the proposed model by Ukrainian enterprises to ensure business continuity, strengthen resilience to crisis impacts, accelerate post-crisis recovery, and create sustainable competitive advantages under martial law and in the context of post-war economic transformation.
