Abstract / Description

This dataset contains the processed TESS space telescope light curve (Sector 53, observed from 2022-06-13 to 2022-07-08) and the corresponding Lomb-Scargle periodogram analysis of the Field Blue Horizontal Branch (FHB) star HD 161817. The analysis reveals a significant periodic signal at approximately 6.80 days, along with secondary bump features in the light curve phases. These preliminary findings suggest potential rotational modulation due to chemical/magnetic spots or the presence of a close substellar/stellar companion (e.g., a Hot Jupiter or an evolved companion). This work represents independent research to constrain the physical parameters of HD 161817.
