Abstract / Description
Gene editing holds promise for improving disease resistance in livestock. We previously generated CD163/pAPN double-knockout (DKO) pigs that exhibit resistance to multiple viruses while maintaining normal production traits. However, broader application of gene-edited animals requires careful evaluation of potential molecular changes associated with genome editing. Here, we present a whole-transcriptome sequencing dataset generated from the longissimus dorsi muscle of DKO pigs and their wild-type (WT) counterparts. The dataset includes expression profiles of four major RNA classes: messenger RNAs (mRNAs), long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), circular RNAs (circRNAs), and microRNAs (miRNAs). This resource provides transcriptomic data that may facilitate further investigation of gene-editing-associated molecular changes and contribute to the safety evaluation of genetically engineered livestock.
