Abstract / Description

Employee loyalty has long been recognized as a valuable organizational asset; however, its contribution to financial sustainability through customer loyalty remains underexplored. This study investigates whether customer loyalty serves as the mechanism linking employee loyalty and financial sustainability. Grounded in the Service-Profit Chain Theory, Social Exchange Theory, and the Resource-Based View, the study proposes a mediation model in which employee loyalty enhances customer loyalty, which subsequently improves financial sustainability. A quantitative cross-sectional research design was employed, and primary data were collected from 225 respondents using a structured questionnaire. The proposed model was analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with ADANCO software. The results reveal that employee loyalty has a significant positive effect on customer loyalty, customer loyalty positively influences financial sustainability, and customer loyalty partially mediates the relationship between employee loyalty and financial sustainability. These findings suggest that organizations can strengthen long-term financial performance by investing in employee retention and fostering customer loyalty. The study contributes to the literature by integrating human resource management and customer relationship management perspectives into a unified framework for financial sustainability. The findings offer valuable theoretical insights and practical implications for managers seeking sustainable competitive advantage through strategic investments in employees and customer relationships.
